Welcome to BoloDoc API. By accessing or using our BoloDoc API service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree with these Terms, please don't use our service. We've tried to keep this readable and fair — if something's unclear, ask us.

What We Provide

BoloDoc API provides API access to FBI Most Wanted data. We extract, clean, normalize, and structure publicly available FBI wanted persons information and deliver it via RESTful APIs.

What We Are: A data API service that makes public information more accessible.

What We Are NOT: We are not law enforcement. We do not create, verify, or endorse the data. We are not responsible for the accuracy of FBI source data. We are data facilitators, not investigators.

Account Registration & Security

Registration Requirements

• You must provide a valid email address
• You must be at least 18 years old
• You must provide accurate and complete information
• One person or organization per account (no sharing accounts)

Your Responsibilities

• Protect Your API Key: Your API key is like a password. Keep it secure. Don't share it. Don't commit it to public repositories.
• Authorized Use: Only use the service for lawful purposes and as described in these Terms
• Accurate Information: Keep your account information current and accurate
• Notify Us: Report suspected unauthorized access immediately to engage@scientifics.io

We May Suspend or Terminate

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or use our service in ways that harm others or our platform.

Acceptable Use Policy

You May Use Our Service For:

• Law enforcement and public safety applications
• Legitimate security and background screening
• News, journalism, and media research
• Academic and criminology research
• Public interest technology applications
• Community safety features in applications

You May NOT:

• Harassment or Stalking: Use data to harass, stalk, threaten, or harm individuals
• Discrimination: Use data to discriminate based on protected characteristics
• Unauthorized Disclosure: Publicly republish our entire database or substantial portions without permission
• Resale: Resell API access or data without an authorized reseller agreement
• Abuse: Attempt to overwhelm, hack, or compromise our systems
• Scraping: Use automated tools to scrape our website (use the API instead)
• Circumvention: Bypass rate limits, authentication, or other security measures
• Misrepresentation: Falsely claim affiliation with law enforcement or FBI
• Defamation: Use data to defame or harm individuals' reputations beyond what's already public

Subscription Tiers & Billing

Free Tier (BASIC)

• Limited to a maximum of 25 results per search request
• Access to current wanted persons data
• Standard search features
• No credit card required

Paid Tiers (PREMIUM & Custom)

• Increased result limits
• Access to cleaned, structured data
• Advanced search with boolean logic
• Historical data and change tracking

Billing Terms

• Payment: Subscriptions billed monthly, quarterly or annually
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
• Cancellation: Cancel anytime; access continues through end of billing period
• Refunds: Prorated refunds for annual plans cancelled within 30 days
• Price Changes: We'll notify you 30 days before any price increases
• Taxes: Prices exclude applicable taxes (added at checkout)

API Usage & Rate Limits

• Rate Limits: Enforced to ensure fair access and system stability
• Result Limits: Based on your subscription tier
• Caching: We recommend caching responses to reduce API calls
• Abuse: Excessive usage may result in throttling or suspension

Data Accuracy & Disclaimers

Source Data

Our data comes from FBI public sources. While we apply extensive cleaning, we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. The FBI updates their data periodically, and there may be delays between FBI updates and our system updates.

Your Responsibility to Verify

IMPORTANT: Do not rely solely on our API for critical decisions affecting individuals' rights, safety, or liberty. Always verify information with official law enforcement sources before taking action.

No Warranties

Our service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Intellectual Property

FBI Wanted API data

The underlying wanted persons data is public information from the FBI. We claim no ownership over this data.

Our Platform

Our API, documentation, code, processes, and cleaning algorithms are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works without permission.

Your Use Rights

You may use data accessed through our API in accordance with these Terms and your subscription level. You retain rights to applications you build using our API.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BoloDoc API shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use the service
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
• Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from our service
• Any bugs, viruses, trojan horses, or similar that may be transmitted through our service
• Any errors or omissions in any content or data
• Any actions taken based on data from our service

In all cases, our maximum liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scientifics.io, its contractors, and licensors from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, including legal fees and expenses, arising out of your use or misuse of the service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any rights of a third party.

Service Changes & Availability

• Updates: We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
• Downtime: We strive for 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access
• Maintenance: Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible
• Data Updates: FBI Wanted API data refreshed daily; timing may vary

Privacy

Your use of our service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

Informal Resolution

If you have a concern, please contact us first at engage@scientifics.io. We'll work with you in good faith to resolve the issue.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Scientifics.io is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Arbitration

Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's rules, rather than in court, except you may assert claims in small claims court if they qualify.

Termination

Your Rights

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting engage@scientifics.io. Upon termination, your access will cease at the end of your current billing period.

Our Rights

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or use the service in harmful ways. Serious violations may result in immediate termination without refund.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be announced via email and/or prominent notice on our website at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Scientifics.io regarding use of our service, superseding any prior agreements.
